Update: Upgrade bid was accepted.
|
I just noticed that the minimum bid upgrade for our return flight, MEX-YYZ, is actually lower ($250), even though that flight is a 763 with lie-flat seats. Why would this leg be cheaper? Is it because there are fewer seats available on the outbound flight (only 12 vs 24)?

Of course once you hit about 14 days in any R space might decrease and I wonder if that will affect bid offer minimums. |
MEX-YYZ April 2, AC1981. According to Seat Guru there are two configurations for this plane. It looks like it is probably 2x2x2 after all.

So lots of R space on this one. Today's list for example shows 7 upgrades approved off the waitlist for a full cabin. Being Easter Monday may have an impact. |
have a YUL-GVA leg in late may and need to add my newborn to my ticket (paid PE, class N). Should I first add the new-born and then bid for the upgrade or the other way arround (bid first and add new-born afterwards) ?
thanks for any advice. |
I have an opportunity to bid YYZ-TLV in mid April. Haven't done this bid thing before. Currently booked in PE. If I bid and it isn't accepted is there any chance my PE seat selection will be messed up? I'm seeing successful bids in the $500-650 range.
Any advice? |

Bid $250 on our return segment and got the notification of success 72 hours before departure. Does anyone know if lounge access is included in MEX? No MLL there.
|
Update: Yes, entry to the United lounge was included. It was better than the Aeromexico lounge I've used the past few trips. Overall I was fairly pleased with the Premium Rouge experience given what I paid.
|
Generally how soon after the 72hr bid deadline has passed do you receive confirmation of bid acceptance/rejection? I placed a bid on my Saturday flight (AC5 YYZ to HND) and am anxious to know the result.
|
With the outbound flight I received notification a little more than 48 hours in advance; with the return flight the notification came almost right at the 72 hour mark.
|
I've also had situations where the bid was not apparently not successful, but got no email of any kind.
