Of course, this all assumes that P25k will offer priority check in and free bags next year. If anything. They may offer one MLL voucher of scrap it all together right?

So I need about 19 miles to qualify for E35k, which based on likely flying next year is only worth it to me, if I get Z2 boarding and priority security at YYZ.
But there is no guarantee those will make it into 2017 either. At least at the 35k level.

The other question you have to ask, is what travel are you planning on doing Jan '17->Feb '18? Because as has been hinted at that makes a difference.

If you're going to fly J and nothing but J paid for by someone else there very little point in anything beyond top tier status imo because you get everything including in ticket price except (easy access to) concierge and maybe slightly closer to front of the line for meal selection.

Standby priority in J is incredibly useful.

I've been booked in R, I, P, Z, and J, and only made it onto another flight (not necessarily earlier, sometimes it was due to IRROPS and the next flight was booked full) because standby priority is the same as upgrade priority.

If everyone assumes they don't need status if they're in J, then the person with P25K will beat them all.

And that brings what value to a thread about someone with 21 AQS, thinking about whether they can do four more segments?

It means if you have to do a mileage run to generate nearly a quarter of your qualifying segments, you're probably out of your mind to be pursuing it in the first place.

And, the fact is 25k has pretty much zero value. It's cheaper to pay for the occasional checked bag than it is to do the MR.

OP has a $300 travel credit that must be used this year.

I'd be surprised if there were any monetary cost to doing this.
