Do you redeposit the cash at the ATM or with a live teller ? Do you run into ATM deposit hold limits or tellers asking questions about the origin of the cash if they see you often ?

I don't.

My daily withdrawal limits are much, much higher than $1K per day as well.

according this the only place in Canada to buy&load by CC is YYZ:confused:

Can I buy/load a CIBC Smart™ Prepaid Travel Visa* Card with cash or with a debit/credit card?

CIBC clients can buy and load from an existing bank account or Personal Line of Credit. If you want to buy or load your prepaid card using cash, simply deposit the cash to your CIBC account and complete the purchase from that account. At CIBC Banking Centres in Toronto Pearson Airport, you can also buy and load your prepaid card from a debit or credit card.

The link and information you have seems to be for a slightly different product?

Oh, yes you're right,

but since you load in Foreign currencies, how to withdraw in Canada ATM?

That's say I use Canada CC to load, CC will be charge USD? then 2.5% foreign transaction fee apply (except few CC like Marriott CC.), then if you withdraw in Canada ATM, CIBC will reverse back USD to CAD? another 2.5% fee apply??

I thought I'd order one since it's free to get one (unless I want to pay for courier mailing) but I can't fill out the employment section.

My job isn't listed, and "other" isn't a choice either.

The list is vague. I just whatever was the closest to what I do. It has no bearing on you getting the card anyway.

I prefer to avoid giving mis-information whenever Equifax or TransUnion is involved some how.

Air Transport Ramp Attendant has to be close enough.:)

I noticed before completing the application process, it forces me to purchase currency. CAD isn't one of the choices.
Is this normal? Can I switch to CAD once the card arrives?

Qantas and Air New Zealand have been offering these for a few years. If you go over to those forums and do a search there are pages and pages of questions and answers and the good and the bad. The only difference I can see with this is AC will not give you aeroplan points for it and I believe those other cards do or at least at one time they did.

also this website reviews the card which I found helpful. It was done in july so some of the information is outdated

Has anyone used one of these yet? What are your thoughts/experience?

I now have one.

Haven't used it yet as I couldn't remember my unchangeable PIN.

I found it a bit backwards you have to load it from a credit card.

Will use it abroad in November.

i find that to be the best part, especially considering it isn't treated as a cash advance on the "loading" card.

If they made ATM withdrawals free, there would be real value to this, but as it stands, this card is useless to me
