Domestic flights with stops used to be very common. I remember a YHZ-YQM-YQB flight I took in the 90s where the plane had to be de-iced in YQM. I missed my connection in YQB

Do people need to leave the plane in YUL on AC1140 (YEG-YUL-YHZ)? I doubt it, though they'd be stuck on a parked plane for an hour or so.

There was some flight in the prairies during EYWv4 that kept pax onboard when stopping to dropoff/pickup pax. I don't recall which route, and it was Jazz not Mainline, and certainly not involving a border.

That can be common, I was referring to disembark for customs/immigration per the OP's Q.

This has changed. You can now bring Duty Free Liquor on board any Dom flight if you are connecting in Canada. You do not have to put it in your luggage. The bottles must be in approved duty free bag that is seals with your receipt showing. The first airport to allow this was YUL.

Thanks for setting me straight on this: I'm delighted to hear that this right royal PITA has been done away with!

Thanks for the info, this is really good to know.
This gives me another reason to pick up a Johnnie Walker Blue next time. :p
