AC 777 with 3 class layout
I'm thinking of taking AC LHR - YVR next month. I noticed the 777 has the new 3 class layout. I'll be in FC how is it? I've only been on the 777 with the 2 class layout. It looks like there are window seats that are in there own row. Anyone have any opinions on if I should avoid this plane?

Since when does AC have an F cabin? The layout is most likely Y, Y+ and J.

There is a 777 HD epic fail thread you may wish to read to make your call.
End story...... Many dislike. Some like. |
AC doesn't have a first class on any of their planes. The 777 are being changed out with the front cabin moving to the new 787 seats. Lot's of information here:
777 refurb |
The 3 class AC B777 is the high density layout. Out of YVR, mainly used to LHR, HKG and YYZ.
In the window rows, the seats are arranged single/double alternating. The single seat is called the "the throne seat". Y is 3-4-3 with 17" wide seats. I personally hated the J and Y seats and would avoid it. |
was on the new 777 refurb with same J seats (YVR-YYZ) as the B-787 (Dreamliner), loved the new seats (pods), as previously stated the old wishbone pods and the alternate 6 across versions with the throne seat are soon to be gone, the new version is a real step up.
BTW was on the 787 on my return YYZ-YVR, exact same config, couldn't tell any difference except for the seat except for the newer cabin layout i.e./ window, washrooms etc. |

777 refurb The 777 HD Epic Fail thread that Sean mentioned above talks about the current setup http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...epic-fail.html Short answer is most people prefer the single pods if traveling alone. |

"777 3-cabin?"
There are two types of 3-cabin 777 configs. 1. HD 2. DreamCabin Which one are you referring to? |
I flew the 777 in HD J config 3 times; 2x in J, 1x in Y. In J if traveling with your spouse, it is fine, If traveling alone and you do not have access to the throne seat OR you are not sitting in the center then yes it would suck to crawl across a stranger. Y blows; not only are you crammed in the smallest seat that you can imagine but some very DUMB person decided to install the AV controls right under your elbows.

To be fair to the non-AC reader, AC International Business can be considered a "J+" service if you are comparing it to J on some other carriers running a true F/J/Y three-class configuration. However, with pods in J becoming the norm that's less of a distinction than it used to be.
AC does not have anything resembling F. |

I might have agreed with that 10 years ago, but certainly not now.
