Signature block says it all. Crossed 100k miles on Friday flying back from Europe. Business flying is probably done for the year and I am approx $2500 short of $20k AQD. :-(

I have been in SE Asia three times this year, and Europe twice, but all trips were Prem Econ. My big miscalculation was NOT buying code shares (eg ICN-BKK, ICN-SIN) in the hope that I could do *A upgrades. I only managed 1 of 6 upgrades, and missed AQD on all of those flights.

Would have qualified under old rule a long time back (see previous post on this thread).

As of today, I am officially over the "hump". Still a few AQD and AQM to post but should be comfortably over at almost 150K AQM and 21K AQD

Just curious on how AC looks at being close to AQD. I am looking at a scenario where I have 2 more round trips to post bringing me to ~$1300 remaining in AQD. I found a flight to SA on Dec 30 in J class that is $1800 with a return ticket booked, but I cannot see the actual portion of that fare that is the base fare. Is there any leniency or does it have to be on the penny? Here is the trip and it is exactly the same fare there and back ~$1800 for a total of $3700. One way for the same ticket is $3600 so I have to book it with a return to see anything. It is base + carrier surcharges, correct?

Base Fare
2659.98
Surcharges
30.02
Carrier Surcharge
860.00

Normally yes.

I presume you are on an AC codeshare with LH/SA/LX for the Europe-South Africa portion. If the flight is booked as one of those airline's flight numbers, you will not get AQD for that portion, which means likely only about $800 each way. If you are travellnig on BA, even if it is an Air Canada codeshare, likewise no AQD.

Good luck!

Sorry I should clarify- SA = South America. That flight was AC YYC to YYZ and then to Buenos Airies (EZE). So it looks like entire amount should go against the Air Canada AQD.

Looks like a repeat of last year still being ahead with AQM over AQD (bottom feeder that I am). Now sitting at over 102K AQM with $17200 AQD. Passed 100K at around $16700 AQD. The 29 AQS isn't really reflective as I have an unlimited pass and I haven't been keeping track of those.

lot of Q400 and Dash 8 flying this year with at least some transborder and overseas flown in for variety.

Should pass 105-110K with $20K plus AQD by December.

Now close to 80k miles but nearly 19,000 AQDs. Not typical, but a reflection of an IRROPS which got me rebooked with extra AQDs. Which I won't need with the extra flying needed to reach 100k AQMs.

Took 9 weeks of flying to get from 0 AQM/AQD to 90K AQM and $35K AQD. It's been 3 months at this point with no flying, but have another 60K AQM and another $30K AQD already booked, so I'll cross the SE threshold for 2019 by end of October.

If you need more dollars to reach your status level, feel free to post when you finally hit it. The person in my example above might post later that they requalified for SE at 134,735 miles.

Reminder levels are as follows:
P25K: 25,000 miles or 25 segments plus $3,000
E35K: 35,000 miles or 35 segments plus $4,000
E50K: 50,000 miles or 50 segments plus $6,000
E75K: 75,000 miles or 75 segments plus $9,000
SE100K: 100,000 miles or 95 segments plus $20,000

However, the recent posts above seem to belong in this thread

Sicne the AQD started Jan 1 2016, the how we would have qualified under the previous rules haven't applied now for over 2 years.

Or am I missing something in the 3 recent posts? Thanks.

I think that BB was bang on. He crossed 100K AQM and reported where he was at with AQD. I believe that was the point of the thread.
