Segment flown??? I get SE just by buying the UFP for 10 months. I have no interest in flying this many segments. Find me a direct flight and I am there.

Lot's of talk about the folks who rack up big AQMs each year, but what about those of us who rack up the segments (AQS or equivalent). Someone described it as Comfort Warriors vs Road Warriors.
Looking for the number of segments you will fly in 2015. Doesn't matter if AC or other airline, and doesn't matter what class, or whether it was paid, or on points. It looks like I will have 211 segments in 2015, which equates to 133 1-way flights. About 202 of those segments were on AC, and would have earned approx 101,784 AQMs had they all been Flex purchases, or just over 500 AQM per segment. As I fly on an unlimited flight pass I do not earn AQS or AQMs per flight. I have been tracking manually to prove that unlimited flight pass is cheaper than buying flex tickets. That's a lot of time spent hopping from one airplane to another; from small Beechcrafts to A380s; from commercial airlines to FBOs. I haven't gotten tired yet. Oh, and if you think I qualified on segments, you're wrong! Almost one third of my flights don't count towards AQM, but I still qualified for SE easily on miles. Next year, I'll probably rack up another 200 segments easily. |
98 segments for a total of 41k miles this year. 60 of those 98 were on the BEH. 24 of those 60 were on C-GORN.
|
103 revenue segments credited to AC.
162 total segments flown. 2 more booked. Likely to book another 2-4. |
I've flown 52 AC segments, all domestic, and they've amounted to only 17,921 AQM (only 49 are posted as of yet so another 645 AQM to be posted). I've spent about $30,000 on those 52 segments, but I don't know what portion of that would qualify as AQD.
I have an additional 15 segments on non *A airlines. My 67 flights this year felt like a lot until I read through this thread. |

50% of segs and 52% of miles on AC metal. -- 13F |
I'm now on what should be my last flight of 2015 unless there is any last minute plan changes. My final segment count is 283.

In past 12 months.
Actual Miles - 66,000 Total Segments - 36 (2-F / 24-J) AQS - 30 AQM - 75,000 AQD (AC) - $7,250 Next Year's Status is E50 - Will be around 5K Short of E75. Split of actual miles 1 Swiss - 47% 2 Air Canada - 36% 3 Lufthansa 9% 5 - BA/AY/SN/SW each around 1.5 % |
49,489 AQM
95 AQS - 92 on AC 23k AQD |
AQS - 93 (96 by the end of the weekend)
AQM - 63,089 All on AC Metal, mostly Atlantic Canada with a flight further now and then. I have no idea what the spend is right now, but it has been significant this year, as it was already over 20K at the end of September. For those doing over 100 AQS, my hats off to you. |
104 AC segments

unlimited (have had unlimited pass for 6 months and I don't bother trying to count) plus 16 AQS for when they are counting . . .

I thought I was "special", but after finding FT a week ago I realize that there are lots of "special" people who track all that stuff. |
