A few FlyerTalkers with access to ExpertFlyer are willing to use their subscriptions to look up availability for fellow FTers. Please note that ExpertFlyer offers free 5-day trials, and subscriptions are reasonably priced at US$4.99 per month for a Basic account and US$9.99 per month (US$99.99 per year) for a Premium account; consider subscribing as opposed to posting in this thread.

hopefully this strategy works. Can’t see many being far above us for J (would have to be a very recent economy booking by 35K or higher I think. And hopefully not 12 or 14 more for PY. As there are still most seats available.

Would somebody be able to check AC121 on 12/20 and 12/22 for me please? Website shows eUpgradeable on Latitude for AC121 on 12/20 but when I called in agent said there was no R space (I understand that you don’t need R space to upgrade on Latitude but not clear to me how to make sure my upgrade will clear before changing my existing confirmed J upgrade with Latitude). Thank you!!

This far out, there's likely to be upgrade space from Latitude/PY Flex even if R=0. You can check in the booking process.
Edited to add: Even though R=0, AC589 does have upgrade space available for Lat/PY Flex
