"I live at Deerfoot and Anderson"

Must be kind of cold this time of year--not too many houses there! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Seriously though, sounds like you are in my end of town (guessing you are in Diamond Cove or Bonavista or Queensland). I'm down where the deer run . . .

cattle Nov 4, 2002 5:58 pm

I live in the Bonavista area. Are you down in Fish Creek?

When you are back in town and if you ever have some spare time maybe we could try to meet at Brewsters or somewhere else close by?

I know schedules are always a problem but the offer is open.

muskoka Nov 4, 2002 7:21 pm

Just when you all decide to have a get-together in YYC, and it's during the one week
per year that I go home to visit my folks in YYZ!! Oh well, maybe next time-- have a couple for me!

Bob.

Maybe muskoka, cattle and BlondeBomber (and other YYC bound or domiciled FTers) could have a get together. Brewster's sounds great!

superdawg Nov 4, 2002 8:25 pm

I can't make it for lunch on the 15th but if we meet in the evening that would work, so far the list comprises:

So far we have:
superdawg
tcook052
neverathome
cattle
carioca canuck
zontar

and possibly
altaflyer
fisch

As for location we can do Wings or as Cattle states and BB agrees (even though he can't make it for this one) Brewsters. I guess it still up in the air, any suggestions?

I suggested Brewsters only because it's local to BB and I for a quick get together. I'm fine with it but wouldn't mind trying Wings given the good reviews so far (assuming its open in the pm)

Just a suggestion: Why don't we try to get a concensus so we can set a time and place by this weekend:

Date
Lunch or Dinner or Both
Place

If we can I think the evening would be better as I would hate to think that superdawg couldn't make it after being the one to get this going.

November 15
dinner is best
Wings or other

superdawg Nov 5, 2002 7:08 am

Wings is open on Friday nights and isn't super busy.

So if I may suggest as Cattle says: Friday November 15 for dinner at Wings.

Fri. nite 6 or 7pm o.k. with me. Am arriving in YYC earlier that day and will give myself lots of time to find Wings.

BTW, having never met any other FTers to date, is there a secret handshake or do you all wear Flames jersey's or what? Or is Wings the kinda place I won't have much trouble picking you out. I could wear my FT luggage tag. Just curious.

Altaflyer Nov 5, 2002 9:47 am

I am still interested in this but need to think about scheduling. At this point I may need to just drive down Friday and come back either the same day or Saturday - might still work flights into this but once the time and place is set I'll know better.

In Cowtown, you're more likely to see Leafs or Habs jersey's (or horrors, even Oiler sweaters) than Flames jersey's. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Let's just make a reservation under FlyerTalk and let Wing's worry about putting us together. Or failing that, head to the loudest table and I suspect you'll do all right.

As for the yellow luggage tags, I've been faithfully carrying mine for 9 months now and have yet to see a single one in any of my trips - beginning to wonder if anyone else had ever bought them!

Wouldn't you spontaeoulsy combust if you did that?

I would love to get a FT luggage tag. Where do you get such a wonder of the world?

Can someone who nows where Wings is put directions from McKnight or Airport Trail. That would be very helpful. I'm assuming it's by the aiport.

From Mcknight turn onto 12th St. N and go until a T-Intersection (you'll see Field Aviations Apron in front of you) turn right and after the road curves left you'll want to turn in the Shell Avitat/Peidmont Hawthore parking lot. Park in this lot and when you walk into the building you will want to turn left after you pass the flight planning room. There you will see Wings.
