Finding a reason for a flight delay

I am making a claim on my credit card insurance for a flight delay and having to purchase a hotel room for a missed connection. RBC insurance is requiring that I provide the reason for the delay from the carrier, in this case Air Canada. I have the flight notification email showing the delay, but that is not sufficient for RBC Insurance. Any ideas where I can get the official reason for the flight delay?

Call AC, tell them you require the reason of the delay for insurance purposes and see what they give you. Also, KVS should be able to give the reasons. Someone here can provide the reason stated in KVS if you provide the flight number and date - or pay for KVS yourself.

Can you give more details I can see what KVS can dig up...

Someone with ExpertFlyer can tell you. Just wait a few more mins.

It was flight 967 on Feb 22, 2015 from BGI to YYZ.

Thanks for the help.

Too far out for KVS sorry, maybe someone with EF can chime in...

Too far out for EF as well. Only goes one week back.

CIBC Visa has never asked me for the reason of the delay. I usually take a photo of the departures board for proof.

How do you find this on ExpertFlyer? Have poked around and can't see it...

Click on Flight Status and enter the information (date, airline, flight #). On the next page, you will see a link "View Additional Comments" under the flight info. Click on it and you will have all the specifics about the flight (reason for delay, etc).

Funny thread title. Comes across as "making up a reason..." Shouldn't it be "finding the reason?"
