E75 - a failed SE?
 

You know how they say that Jupiter is a failed sun? Aren't E75's failed SE's? I frown upon these people that do MR's and want the same status as me...

Good point. I personally feel that AC should start adding tiers to SE based on spend.

How about SE CHARITY, SAPPHIRE, TITANIUM and the highest category, SSE (super SUPER elite). Then they can start really distinguishing between those who achieve the status through status runs, and those who really add value to the brand. Plus, they could make nice charity luggage tags.

The fact that someone doesn't spend as much time in an airplane as you does not make them a failure. If achieving S100K is important to them, let them do what they must to get there. A MR is simply putting on the necessary miles.

HA! you only named 3 classes when clearly there should be 4. How about SE BF (Bottom Feeder)?

Edit, oops my bad, you did add 4, but I still think one should be BF, it could stand for anything that matches the letters BF...

Well, I've never done a mileage run, and I just crossed the MM threshold, so unless you are MM as well, I am officially better than you. Hopefully you aren't 2MM, that would sting.

Oh, and the only people that would call Jupiter a failed sun are those that know nothing about Jupiter.

Well, that's just sad. Perhaps you have failed at life's natural meaning. Having kids, a strong marriage are things that are much harder to do for a SE. Most on my team have lost their marriages due to extensive flying. Some have regrets, some don't. I thought about MRing to HKG to hit SE. And then I thought how pathetic that sounds (to me). Personally, I think it's time to abolish all status tiers below the rank of SE. We all know that FF benefits are expensive, so really AC should stop wasting money on the failures so that they can focus their resources and restore benefits to SEs. An E35 isn't fit to breathe the same air as the Princes of the Airline.

I used to be like you, always worrying about my benefits from AC (cue the devaluations) and what I "get" from the airline (and looking at 35K's like they don't deserve to breathe the same air as me). I thought about doing a MR to SE and then it hit me. What the hell has AC done to me? I'm worrying about FF benefits and getting all worked up? I then laughed (at myself) and looked at my passion (aviation) a whole lot differently - and as objectively as possible. I hope you find that in your life one day. Otherwise you'll end up like Ryan Bingham. Sure, your name (well actually yours wont) may be on the side of a plane. But you are nothing compared to some FTers on here who put your miles in 4 months (now that's respect - and i've seen the proof). (and that's by your definition, since you care so much about your Altitude status). You're a rounding error to the true legends on FT. I hope that this post helps you find your peace. And those legends - pfft they could care less about the FF benefits as it doesn't even affect them - since they fly THAT much. They don't even care about priority boarding since they've worked down their entire process to the exact minute. Are they condescending as per your post? Nope, their attitude is truly the opposite. And I hold them in the highest regard because of the miles they put up (and how easily they make that look) and because of their attitude.

As a paid J cabin traveller I can’t stand being seated next to these FFM’s (frequent flyer mooches). They reek of entitlement and MLL pasta… ;)

Given the reduction of mileage on low fares even non-AC flights, there's no real value in trying for SE through MRs. Let's face it, those who work for companies that pay high fares are now the monarchs of the air. As I wrote months ago, and as was seized on in the NYTimes this past weekend, the airlines have joined the gap between rich and poor and top elite tiers are now comprised of the 1% just as the rest of NAmerican society. Enjoy the ride on the largess of your employer or client...and their shareholders and the taxpayers who subsidize those high fare deductions.

Hear hear! I think people who post garbage like the OP did (maybe it was tongue in cheek??) lack happiness in all or most other aspects of their life, are not truly "elite" in the traditional socio-economic sense, and so they fly around on their company's dime and obtaining SE is the only "socio economic" status they will ever achieve. Oh, and they like to be jerks about it. The class system is perpetuated in airlines but without the class.

Sad, sad, sad the kind of behavior FF tiers bring out in people.
