It may be $9,000 per hour, but if you assume a 3 hour trip, that's 6 hours flight time (it has to go back to Canada in the meantime - it won't just sit on the tarmac in Vegas waiting for you.)
That $9k does not account for landing fees, catering, taxes... oh, and a little thing called "profit." The OP could call a charter broker as well. As fun as a charter would be, it's definitely cheaper to fly commercial....even if paying full J/F. Another option....buy the entire cabin on a WS flight. The airline could then sell seats on the return flight as they normally would. |

The a/c might wait at destination but there will be a holding fee. May equate to x hours/day flight time.

Well, I got some pricing back and a JETZ Charter is cheaper than paying full J. For YEG-LAS June 1 to 5 2014 Charter Price: $143,738.00 CAD. This is for 58 PAX on A319. I also emailed follow-up to find out max-pax on the A320 would be.

have used AC jetz and it is a great product. Have also used MiamiAir and been very impressed with the product and service. Many NHL and MLB teams use them...let me know if you want a contact?

Is that return or one way pricing?

I wonder what buying a WS flight would work out to? I think that could be fun particularly if you make arrangements directly with WS and tell them the whole story. They would likely staff the flight with an extra-fun crew; could be a real hoot! |

OP could at least earn AE miles putting on a CIBC Visa or Amex AEPlat subject to a credit check. :)
Put the cash in the account first and it should be OK. |
You might be able to get a WS charter on encore (the Q400) for less, although not sure if it would have the range?
|
Since Westjet has YEG-LAS service already a WS group quote either air only or with the hotel rooms via Westjet Vacations might be the way to go here. JETZ costs is huge compared to what a group airfare rate would be. Plus this way you can have deviations.

The Jetz aircraft would likely require positioning, which will be charged.
As other poster suggested there are other charter operators. But I wouldn't want to be the guy that chases each guest for their share of the tab. Another option is getting a group discount promo code on AC (or WS, even!) and everyone can pick the dates/flights they want and pay how they want. Note that AC convention promo codes do not apply to Tango and Executive lowest fares. |
Some more information:
The positioning is included in the pricing quote. Also of note, all AC jetz are converted to standard configuration during the summer months when there is no NHL. ALL JETZ. Also, as of 2014, Jetz will only be the 319. All 320s are being converted to standard service. Presumably to fill the gap for the 319s being transferred to Rogue. I like the idea of an all J charter for the group we are planning. It would be pretty fun and if my extended family did fill the cabin, I could maybe sell additional seats for a VIP Vegas experience or something.... |
At $2,600+ per person, if you were my uncle and trying to get me to go to Vegas, I'd tell you to either pound sand or subsidize me to the tune of $2k. But hey - good luck with that. :)
