Can I bring in my half-sister's mother-in-law?
|
Second cousin once removed?
|
The AC press release says spouse and children only.
|
Do they have to be _my_ children? Just wondering how much I could charge for a babysitting service in the MLL.

OK, my boycott of AC has slipped a bit with a quick one day trip to YEG today - it lasted longer than a New Year's diet!
I witnessed 2 nasty 'exchanges' at the C Concourse YVR MLL which unfolded almost exactly as most of us expected them to. The first? A family travelling to YYC from HKG and the 'enforcer' kept sticking to the 'one guest' rule for Elites! Unreal. They just paid thousands of dollars to AC for 3 people to fly across the ocean and the agent - who's wrong BTW - decides to make a huge deal out of something like this? The wife was livid and spoke to her grandmother in Chinese and then told the agent that he was being unfair. The second one got my attention again as it was a heated exchange with staff members on a pass. The agent mentioned something about 'since last Friday' and the gentleman and his female companion accused the AC rep of not knowing the 'rules'. Guess what? I went upstairs for 20 minutes and when I came back down they were still debating the finer points of MLL access with a new AC rep (the first guy was still there). Truly embarrassing for a 'world class' airline. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif |
Guess whether they are going to fly AC from now one? I bet CX is just loving the way AC has been doing things lately.
If I was around, I would have just taken one of them in as a guest. If I was only an Elite, I would go upstairs, ask for a SE to go take one of them in as a guest. This is crazy... |
This thing is unreal...
I don't know any other airline company who does this kind of things. Hey! We are in 2002!!! I would certainly feel it as an intrusion in my private life if I had to show some MLL agent an id card showing the same address as mime for the person traveling with me. This is none of their business to know who I am traveling with. I have a girlfriend living in her own place. So we don't have the same adress and are not married. What happen next time I travel with her? I will have to pay $20.00??? This is not only ridiculous but it is also a big non-sense. Can you imagine the thousands of people arguing over this in the next couple of months. Can you think about people and partners humiliated because an MLL agant decide that because there is no proof of mariage of whatever Ms XYZ can not access MLL or have to pay $20.00 because it not recognized as a real partner by AC? I hope AC will change their way of thinking about that because I won't fly a lot with them this year... Will write another E-mail to Rupert... |
I said from the day this was announced that this was going to be a PR nightmare and I was right. Someone above said they were flying to HNL - you can certainly make the argument this is transoceanic or whatever the silly term they use in order to allow a guest.
