Errorplan and ROB
I noticed that today in the Globe and Mail, there is an article on errorplan. I don't know how to do links here, but it is on B11 in the Report on Business section.

Wow - my favourite quote from this article:
"Because of the outcry, however, the airline is considering revising some of the planned changes" Mr. Duchesne said. Fascinating. |
Will this now mean that upgrades for SEs will only be from Y fares now? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

You are being far too generous Academic, I think it will mean upgrades to J from C class only.

The link for the story was also posted on the Errorplan.com site.
'Érrorplan' needles Air Canada http://shorterlink.com/?HAM4LP I have doubts about any changes being revised. |
Flying Buffalo: Thanks for the link. I could'nt find the article in the on-line edition. I thought perhaps it was in the Ontario edition and not the national one.

Might be worth further pressing the higher ups to change with assisted, "viral" distribution of errorplan...

Considering is a very non-commital word - don't think the saying "It's the thought that counts" applies to this one!

This is likely the first time a senior AC exec has actually responded in the press. Thus far, Aeroplan spokespersons have been unavailable to the media, much to the frustration of those trying to do stories. I recall when the new TRAVEL CHANNEL did an item on being Elite and SuperElite, the producer was telling me how they could get no one from Air Canada or Aeroplan, even though the item was not going to be critical. Or else they have used Ms. Cook to issue semi coherent denials.
I wonder how many elites who are not quite as fanatical as those of us here, will care about the changes? I know back a year ago from watching elites try to get their upgrades at the gate and being turned down due to the fare class of their ticket, that most don't have a clue about such minutia. Are we about to see an outbreak of such rejections in March, or will res agents stem this at the 72- and 48-hour threshold by informing elites their fares a not eligible for upgrading? So even with this errorplan thing, it will be interesting to watch the reaction around the gate in those early weeks in March, or listen to the grumbling in the MLLs prior to flights. |
Well, at least they know we aren't happy. If they see a drop in revenue over the next few months, it's important that they realise what caused it rather than attribute it to the effects of Sept 11th.

When will AC realise that errorplan is just a symptom of all the unhappiness that is being felt by hitherto loyal AC flyers? As Empress commented, the "Shall I stay" thread should be required reading for senior management. We could be completely wrong in our thinking that many others will vote with their feet as the packages arrive. My suspicion, though, is that that their may not be a haemorrhage, but there will be some unecessary bleeding.

Looking forward to seeing the article in print. They must have had some remarkable distribution channels if their document has been seen in some of those locales!

I have already signed up for LH Miles & More and will be crediting all my flights there. I am doing a RTW in J in the next year and with COS for AC, what is the point? With LH's bonus structure, it is more "rewarding" to be with that program.
I guess I have already voted. ------------------ Your resident on-line IATA Travel Agent - also AC Elite |
