Unhappy eUpgrade sharing question

I have a situation not sure how to deal with it.

I am a AC Elite, nominated two people (X and Y) and upgraded for them. However for the return trip, i am short of 10 eUpgrades to upgrade for both of them again. (I can only do up for X not Y) my friend who is also an Elite, is willing to share the eUps with me or X/Y. How is it supposed to be done?

I read that my friend can't nominate either X or Y because I have nominated them already. So that means I can't upgrade for X and my friend upgrade for Y? or how does it work? He can't send 10 eUps to me then I upgrade for both X and Y?

Thanks for your help!!!

It is a new rule that they added this year:

http://www.aircanada.com/en/aeroplan...des/share.html

....Additionally, note that this year, an Aeroplan Member, regardless of their Air Canada Top Tier status, can only be identified as an eUpgrade Nominee by one Air Canada Top Tier member.
From a recent thread, some had said they were be able to nominee by more than one Top Tier members. Maybe those people can explain how did they be able to do that.

It's possible to de-nominate someone on your nominee list. I haven't tried it out, but it might be possible for someone to be nominated by another member after they've been deleted from their first nominator's list.

You meant de-activate the nominee? As you can't delete:

http://www.aircanada.com/en/aeroplan...des/share.html

Once you have completed your list of eUpgrade Nominees, you will not be able to change it. However, you will be able to deactivate a nominee if you no longer wish for them to use your eUpgrade Credits, and reactivate them if you change your mind later. Please note that deactivating an eUpgrade Nominee does not enable you to add an additional nominee.

Is that true? I'm under the impression that you can only de-activate a nominee, but you can't make any changes until they reset the nominee list in the next benefit year.

Sorry, I did mean de-activate. The original sponsor doesn't regain a slot, but it might mean that the nominee can be re-nominated by someone else. As I say, I haven't tried it so I don't know what the result will be.

thx

Thx for all your replies,

I guess I will try to de-activate X from list and nominate X from my friend's list. then upgrade each individually.

Let me try out and feed back to everyone if it works or not!

Thanks!

I am in a similar situation. Wanted to upgrade my parents (X, Y) for their trip, however, I (A) have enough for one, but not the other.
However, my partner (B) would be able to upgrade one of my parents using his credits.

X & Y has one reservation code for both seats.
A & B are both Elite

So if A upgrades X, and B upgrades Y... would a situation occur where either X or Y would be upgraded but not both? (or one is confirmed, while the other is waitlisted?)

Wouldn't want Mom to sit up front while Dad is stuck in the back... or vice-versa.

I would just break the reversation of your parents to 2 separate booking. Then your partner and you each nominee 1 parent. If you want to ensure both get upgraded, you will need to mark sure R >= 2. If both are waitlisted, then your parents will need to talk to the GA. Really to let them know if R = 1 and one of them suppose to get it, give the R seat to the next person.

sorry to bump this thread but has anyone confirmed that you can't nominate someone that's been deactivated (but nominated) by another top tier member? i've run out of nominee slots to try this out

(yes i know it's a new 2012 restriction listed on the site, but it's AC IT)

if needed PM is the key
