AC eUpgrade page down?

I'm sitting in NRT trying to see if my upgrade cleared for today's AC 004 to YVR but the page keeps getting stuck. I've never gotten an email with previous upgrades so I think this is my only way of finding out. Anyone else having any luck? Alternativley, can anyone see how full J class looks?

Cheers!

bakersdozen Feb 18, 2012 11:23 pm

Page isn't loading for me either

bakersdozen Feb 18, 2012 11:25 pm

AC04 for Sunday is showing 1 J, 0 R, and 5 Y too so looks pretty full

Much obliged (if depressing). I may have some upgrade credits to give away as of tomorrow....

nobody-elite Feb 18, 2012 11:37 pm

This is troubling, I wanted to try and upgrade my daughter later tonight.

When you upgrade the first segment at 96 hours does AC keep your name on a list for the second segment?

Also, a bit confused about amount of eupgrades. It say 17 eupgrades from TLV-YYZ but it also says 17 for TLV - YVR.

If I go online tonight to upgrade the first segment, 17 segments will be deducted. Do you get charged more for that second segment if I have to go online @96 hours for her second flight? She has 2 hours between her flights.

It would be so much easier if both upgrade requests could be done at the same time. Thank you

jarusoba Feb 19, 2012 12:05 am

Yes. It is down again.

They were down a couple of weeks ago and now I can't access my eupgrade account. Hope they fix it within a short time, or I would be quite mad of not being able to upgrade before I am in the air on a longhaul flight!!

Ask the concierge to do it for you

DutchSE Feb 19, 2012 1:45 am

I can't access ie either - super annoying as I need to upgrade a flight next week and I am about to get on a 10 hour flight. Will suck if I miss out on one of the R3 seats left because of this.

YukonYXY Feb 19, 2012 1:48 am

Still down for me too. What a PITA. Get your s*** together AC!

nobody-elite Feb 19, 2012 4:57 am

Still down.

jarusoba Feb 19, 2012 5:07 am

Still down.

But at least, when I called into the SE line, the agent could do it for me at her end. So it is not as bad as a little while ago when the same system broke and even the agents could not do the upgrades.

nobody-elite Feb 19, 2012 5:20 am

Thanks, didn't know we could phone in. Phoned in and she is on the wait list.

geckoflyer Feb 19, 2012 5:24 am

Online check-in (via mobile site, ac.com and the iPhone app) are all down as well. Seems like anything driven from services.aircanada.com.

yyccdg Feb 19, 2012 8:01 am

Its been down since about 8pm Mountain time, I was in there just before that time and it worked but it died when I when in after that. Glad we have electronic upgrades!!

mendy7511 Feb 19, 2012 8:07 am

I just has to make a 5 minute call to Montreal from my Canadian cellphone from the Thai Lounge in BKK thanks to the technical difficulties.
If I don't get the e-upgrades that will be a waste of 10 dollars.

yyzgigi Feb 19, 2012 9:47 am

Thank goodness for Skype on my iPod. Just called for free from Paris. Let's hope checkin works tomorrow.

nowinyow Feb 19, 2012 12:03 pm

AC really needs to put some TLC into their IT department.

This is crazy! Have a latitude ticket, upgrade space available but can't access. In remote UK right now....

AC...you listening? If not, I sure hope you're fixing the problem!

Good luck to your daughter, n-e. Hoping she'll get the e-Up. One of the great joys of Fatherhood, is when you can give your "little girl" a heartfelt gift that she'll appreciate! ^^

nobody-elite Feb 19, 2012 3:56 pm

Thanks so much JJonahJ

I became ill at the last minute so couldn't go to hear my daughter speak on a project she has worked so hard on. We are very proud of her and it would be wonderful if I could give her this little treat for all her hard work.

Going to try and get her an upgrade on the second segment later this afternoon, in case the TLV one doesn't happen for her. TLV flight, is not a new plane but it will be her first pod experience and a nice long flight to enjoy the pampering.

Seems the upgrade site is still not working. That's a long time to be down.

AC is enhancing the upgrade system.

furballs Feb 19, 2012 4:02 pm

Quite the enhancement!

Sorry, couldn't resist..........

mountainboy Feb 19, 2012 4:35 pm

Due to the late arrival of the incoming HTTP request..

canforce Feb 19, 2012 4:57 pm

Sure glad ACTopTier is around to let us know what is going on and when things will be back up and running.

Once again, AC coming through for its best customers.

He he... Well they did twit this 7 hours ago:

"ACTopTier The eUpgrade Svc on aircanada.com is currently unavailable, to request an upgrade, use your Priority Contacts or speak to a rep @ckin"

Although I have to wonder about the "advice" to "request" an upgrade at check in.

Is online check in still down too. I cant check in for my flight to LHR tomorrow night.

PlaneWatcherYYC Feb 19, 2012 6:19 pm

OLCI shouldn't be effected... last I heard it was just the eUpgrades page.

YukonYXY Feb 19, 2012 9:41 pm

Seems to be back up and running now...

mendy7511 Feb 19, 2012 9:47 pm

It is back up now.
looks the same and it was and just as slow as before.
So much for hoping for "enhancements".

edit - I didn't see Yukon's post until after I posted.

They were euphemistic "enhancements."

HerpaYvr Feb 20, 2012 9:16 am

This is the only forum that I know of that the word "enhancements" has a different meaning for so many people with similar backgrounds :D:D

Not working for me ... and in an area foreign roaming rates & lousy cell coverage (albeit OK internet service - go figure).

propofol Feb 20, 2012 5:19 pm

Worked for me today whilst I couldn't access yesterday...

If you can, get yourself Skype. 1-800 calls are free and all you is a decent Internet connection. Best 5 minute investment of my time.
