SE priority waitlist calculation algorithm

Does anyone truly know how this works? I've heard so many different explainations over the years I don't know if any AC agents even know.

My understanding is that fare type takes precedence, and in the case of equal fare then wait list entry time. But, nobody seems to know if other factors such as milage totals (year to date, years of SE status, Million Miles status, etc.), fare totals (year of and/or historic), or any other factors.

One thing obvious is that when partners (Lufthansa for example) run the desk, mistakes are common.

Is the master programmer reading this??!!

Welcome to FT!

You might want to look at these threads. To my knowledge the information there is still pretty accurate. AFAIK AC has never published the official method for clearing the waitlist.

And the new twist is seems like LMU can trump WL. Also there is a glitch E maybe able to jump the line and trump SE in WL too.

There are a few thread lately talks about this...

Exactly how it really works, I think it depends on the phase of the moon and the alignment of Sun, Earth and "Kepler 22B"... :p
