What do you do when...
The passenger affront of you stretches and puts his grummy hands over the back of his seat and parts of his finger tips are over your AVOD?
Has happened twice to me the past couple of weeks. First time I poked the fingers with a pen and on this past Thursday the dude (with gross finger nails!) only did it for about a minute. But still, people seriously need an arse kicking, who the hell does stuff like that? |

Sometimes people just aren't aware of what they're doing. I was on an LH flight last month and the guy in front of me had taken off his shoes and put them under his seat - which is technically my space since that's where my feet are supposed to go!
I was annoyed, but then I just asked him if those were his shoes, and if they could go 'anywhere else.' He happily obliged and didn't seem annoyed at all. |

Hopefully the guy washed his hands.. but I highly doubt that someone with that kind of etiquette would take the time to get out of his seat to do something half decent. So in between flights.. do FA's run a vacuum cleaner.. the nail clippings must have travel afar..:D |

I learned a long time ago that you really only need two things to fix almost any problem:

I was in an exit row aisle seat on a CRA a couple of weeks ago. No one was in the window seat beside me. The girl in the window seat in the row behind me took off her sandals and stretched out her dirty, bare foot on the armrest of the seat beside me (closest to the window). If it had still been there by the time the FA came around with drinks, I would have asked for an extra napkin to throw over the dirty foot. Yuk!
Should I have said anything? |

Should I have said anything? I honestly think we should have the right to use crazy glue, scissors or a karate chop. Reality is we rarely say anything.... |
Lol.. scissors and crazy glue..
I don't think the Hammer Man meant we need to get these tools past security.. It should already be onboard, by request with a seasoned FA. :D |
I think you are all being far too reasonable.
Some time back we were on finals from Rangoon landing at BKK. The call had twice been made for seatbacks into the upright position, but the clown in front of me was totally ignoring the instruction. We were almost landing and I was still unable to reach down and put my shoes on. I therefore gripped both sides of his seat, and gave it full forward thrust! I managed to plaster him against the bulkhead just in front of him. (Should have had his seatbelt on as well.)My traveling business associate said it was the funniest thing he had ever seen on a plane. Sometimes you have to say "I'm mad as hell, and I just won't take it anymore." |
Was on an LH flight from BUD to FRA seated in the window seat at the bulkhead at the front of Y... the middle seat was empty but the passenger one seat over from me in the aisle seat proceeded to take his shoes off, lean back and stick his feet right up against the bulkhead at about eye level.
I also had a nail clipping incident on a suburban commuter train in London. It was on the weekend so the carriage was largely empty, but nonetheless a guy in the row in front proceeded to cut his fingernails on the journey. Though I was really put off by both incidents, I didn't do anything. If someone's finger or hair were covering my AVOD screen though, I'd definitely politely ask them to move the blocking body parts... something to the effect of "erm, hi, sorry, but your fingers are covering my screen..." |
