since AC doesn't have a three tier cabin i guess MLLs won't have a first class lounge portion? maybe the SEs can start a campaign for an SE section ;)
or campaign *A for a new Platinum Tier (similar to OW emerald) and AC has creates a VSE tier (very special elites) :D that grants access to first class lounges

Don't even get me started on this. We got enough people in the lounges right now with credit cards, we don't need sponsorees in the lounge either. You were sponsored an u'g that's good enough, stay out of the lounge. I was in the transborder YYZ lounge on Friday and couldn't find a seat because of all the March Break kids with parents..I'm an SE and deserve to be there more than these people, I should never have to wait for a seat in the lounge. Although i do understand the immediate family thing, let's drop the sponsored u/g people and make them wait at the gate.

That is bs. If you have a j seat, you should get the lounge. What gives? The lounge operators are selling off memberships like they have unlimited seating. Status members, such as star gold, e, SE, etc should be more concerned about every tom dick and harry with a silver or bronze colored ( note i didn't say platinum or gold which these really aren't any more ) credit card crowding the lounges.

There used to be one at LHR before the London Lounge. It was tucked away in the middle of the Lounge so there were no windows, but it was always pleasantly quiet.

They have SE checkin (or used to have) in YYZ and YVR. So why not an SE lounge section?

At YVR transborder MLL last week I was travelling on an upgraded J ticket and the dragon actually punched it in to check its (original) status before she noticed I was also E. So in this case I wouldn't have been allowed on the ticket alone.

I'm not sure how diligent they are in checking this, but Mrs. YVR and Mrs. YVR-in-law are travelling on an upgrade next week and I'm going to equip. them with some certs just in case.

On the return they'll be in SFO so if I manage to upgrade them they should have no problem accessing the RCC since all they care about is the J ticket.

And at YYZ T2 before they turned it into a business centre.

Any update on what happened with your parents? Were they able to get in?

On the way out from YVR, they didn't have enough time to go to the MLL. On the way back (at SFO) they were let in no problem at the RCC on an upgraded J boarding pass (neither pax had status).

I upgrade my business partner when we travel on a flight pass (same PNR) fairly frequently. He has no status. It basically comes down to:

- Technically you're no allowed access to the MLL, but there's a 50-75% chance they'll let you in. But back-up any nominees with a lounge cert just in case

- For any other *Alliance lounge (RCC etc.), the e-upgraded J boarding pass will be enough.
