absolutely...especially if he has never been to Tokyo before....the airport will get pretty boring after a few hours, especially with no lounge access (and, even with lounge, that's a long time, IMO)


Depends on what he's interested in but I would just target one or two things to check out - maybe go to either Akihabara or Shibuya station and walk around, taking in the sights.

I would find anything over 3 hours worth it for me, but YMMV. In six hours one can do a 3-hour bus tour of the city (http://www.hatobus.com/en/index.html), very entertaining, plus grab a meal and walk around the craziness a bit. A lot depends on one's comfort level and ability with maps. :)

I have given away MLL passes in the past when I did not need them to family and friends and they never had any problems using them ever when I was not with them.

Be aware the trip from the city to the airport isn't short (60-90 mins by train) so don't cut yourself too short.
