Tickets are way cheaper if you fly AC than UA.

With baggage transfer services, you still need to claim your bags in a sterile area, clear them through Canada Customs, and then clear them at the PFI station through US customs.
I guess they allow you to drop them off at a transfer belt in T1, and they magically reappear at carrousel 99 next to the PFI in T2. I wonder how long it takes? Let us know. |
HKG-YYZ is NOT a direct flight according to air canada. The flight stops in YVR and continues on into YYZ with the same flight number..(united among others also do this.. ) so you will have to clear customs in YVR and also claim your luggage and re check it..since YVR is your port of entry.. and once that is done you will have to board the aircraft again.. it's not always the same aircraft.. sometimes they swich them on you.. well once that is done, you will fly into YYZ and arrive at terminal 2.. all domestic and trasborder flights are out of terminal 2. so you should not have anything to worry about once you arrive in YYZ. You have will have to clear US customs in YYZ before flying into SYR...
I hope this helps. [This message has been edited by NEFlyer (edited 07-12-2000).] |
Don't think anyone has pointed this out yet, but the AC web site has a page on connection information with specific scenarios (US to International, Air Ontario - US, etc). See http://www.aircanada.ca/services/guide/connect.html

No, NEFlyer.
Unlike UA, AC doesn't fib about flight numbers. There is no change of gauge in YVR and the flight is sterile from YVR to YYZ. YYZ passengers are not permitted to deplane at YVR, and they clear Customs and Immigration at YYZ |
