I am trying to understand whether I will have a problem with a routing through Morocco and am hoping someone who knows the local area and process can help.

I am on an international arrival in CMN at 0730 on RAM from DOH.
I have a domestic connection - CMN to RAK departing at 1105 also on RAM.
I arrive RAK at 1155 - and then have an international departure from RAK on BA to LGW at 1320.

1. I assume that because I am making a domestic connection in CMN I will need to go through customs and immigration in CMN but I wanted to see if that was correct.

2. Since I am just flying to RAK in order to depart Morocco I will not have an address in Morocco for the immigration form - will that create a problem for officials?

3. I will be a domestic arrival in RAK but then making an international departure. Will that be an issue - and will I have enough time for that transition (1 hour 25 minutes)? Looking at Flight Aware I see that the RAM flight between CMN and RAK is often delayed (yesterday by more than an hour) so I'm wondering if folks who have flown this route would advise against this itinerary.

In case it is helpful - I'm flying on a USA passport - have no checked luggage - and am flying business class on all flights. And these flights are all on separate tickets.

1 - I believe there is an option to clear in RAK. However see point 3 below
2 - just write IN TRANSIT and have your flight details to hand. that bit is easy.
3 - that is super risky IMO. RAK gets busy, RAM are often a bit late, BA require you to check in at a desk, so generally that is not something I would be comfortable with. If everything runs smoothly you'll make it. One small problem and you won't. If you choose not to immigrate at CMN then I would say you have a 0% of making this as immigration at RAK can often take 30+mins just by itself.

Sorry to give bad news but for a funky itinerary like this the research would have been good before booking....

Thanks for responding. It seemed too aggressive to me but I wanted to see if there were local circumstances that made it easier (or harder) that it appeared on its face.

Actually if you have a moment for a follow-up question - I've never flown BA so I wanted to check whether that is a standard BA protocol? If I arrive in any airport on an airline other than BA - but plan to connect to and depart on BA - does BA require that you check-in at a desk (not simply check-in on the app and just show up at the gate) and if so can you do that airside? I just have carry-on but if BA requires a desk check-in I need to factor that in. Not a big deal if the desk is airside but quite a big deal if it isn't.

It's a landside check in desk. I've never seen any form of BA desk airside, the contract lounge won't be able to help and I very much doubt the contract gate staff will be able to either.

It's certainly not the norm for BA worldwide, one of those little RAK quirks.

Push the BA flight back 24 hours and enjoy a night in Marrakech. Or get a connecting itinerary from CMN with Iberia?

We're on the same wavelength. I'm looking at either re-routing with Iberia through MAD or trying TAP through LIS. Thanks for your help.
