Problems with WiFi

Last few flights seem to have had an issue with WiFi stability and speed.

Cabin crew specifically announced this on a couple of flights last week as an advisory to anyone intending to purchase access. “Works over land but not over water” was the summary.

EI uses a satellite system so it shouldn't matter if you are over land or water

The higher north you go (SEA/LAX/SFO) the coverage gets spotty

That said its rarely fast and normally struggles beyond basic web browsing

Intelsat had a satellite failure in April which has reduced coverage for the immediate future.

I have had several US flights recently and the WIFI is unusable. You would be lucky to get a WhatsApp message in. Really really poor.

Travelled business class return in May to NYC. WiFi not working both ways. Submitted a complaint. Received a €100 e-voucher from EI.
