A3/OA Network Changes

Hi all, I decided to open a new thread as there was one dedicated to Summer 2023. Couldn't find anything for winter 2023 or summer 2024.

Network Addition:
  • Olympic Air: New Sitia-Kasos-Karpathos-Rhodes route in winter 2023. 3 weekly. Olympic got this route back from SkyExpress. Some intersting fares as some sectors can be as cheap as 11 euros.
KATERGOO, sokolov, vectrox and 2 others like this.

This is just a word of caution for people who may be considering including Kasos as a (cheap) leg in an MR during the winter months. The runway (1000m) runs almost precisely E-W and the prevailing winds are from the NNW hitting the runway from the side. Given that the area is one of the windiest areas of the whole Aegean Sea, delays or cancellations are not rare at that time of the year. Karpathos, on the other hand, has no big problems with that as the runway runs in the same direction as the winds and flights are rarely affected. By the way, the area around the airport is a paradise for kite surfing (for those planning a MR in the summer).

It's "cute" and, perhaps, ot has more churches than trees . In terms of vacationing there, it offers the perfect anti-Mykonos experience!
