There are some rather interesting documents about this on the Ernst & Young website. There's a fascinating list of creditors which includes quite a number of familiar names and which provides quite an insight into how an airline is run -- you can see how supplies were sourced, staff trained and services provided.

It is a VERY interesting list. Everything from their broadband bills to leasing in aircraft. It does seem to confirm that rumours were going around that they opened two large mobile phone accounts. One was unpaid and all lines were cut off a while ago so they opened up another one with another company.

There's a somewhat optimistic statement on the last page about being able to resume operations once the restructuring is complete. Other airlines that have emerged from bankruptcy protection (say Chapter 11 in the US) have been able to do so because they've built up many years of support and goodwill from customers, FF members will have many millions of miles held which they'll want to continue to both redeem and add to, and there actually is a big enough organisation to re-structure in the first place.
Just about the opposite applies to SkyGreece in every aspect - they're toast as far as I can see. On an A3 note, at least the CA$558 they're owed shouldn't cause too many issues ... |

Wow that list of creditors is huge. Some of the amounts look like a lot more than just a (few?) months worth - while others seem to cover just the last few days of operating (eg ATH airport).
Surprising that there are so many foreign airports on the list though - the largest creditor is Greenland airports while they did not even fly to Greenland? The same for Swedish airports. How are these companies involved? |
