Check In
Was ok. It was 10pm and they shut at 10pm so it was dark, but she turned the lights on and checked me in.
Room
I booked a room with no window. Because I wanted a room with no window! I like things that are dark and quiet and other reviews had mentioned traffic noise. I got a "free upgrade" to a room with a "park view". Make that "4 lane busy highway view". I was on level 2, so right above the traffic. It NEVER let up. The room also had a fire alarm with the brightest green light imaginable. Overall, the room never got dark - I had to use an eye mask even at night. Other than the incessant traffic noise, there was also the fun of listening to the guy in the next room snoring. So basically zero soundproofing of any kind.
The bed was soft, the pilllows were hard and I ended up with neck pain. The room was small. The bathroom very small.
Service
I tried to get the lady on reception to give me my room I booked - she flat out denied I ever booked it even when I showed her my confirmation email.
Next morning the "breakfast" (I use the term lightly) was swamped by dirty plates and overflowing rubbish bin. There was no sugar so I asked at reception for some.... about 20 mins later another lady brought a packet from the room service cart. The guy behind the reception desk just ignored the whole chaos and played on his phone.
Dining
Breakfast was awful. I didn't even eat on my second day - it was just not worth it. Fruit loaf with no fruit. Fruit juice from the cheapest supermarket. Nothing hot at all. Some cereal, bread - that was it. Dire.
Location
Location is acceptable. 20 mins to the city on a bus. But you need a bus anywhere because it's a good 20 min walk to the nearest station.
Overall
Wild horses will not drag me back to this hotel.

Damn, a whole months worth of sarcasm used all in 2 lines…

Ibis budget May have been a better brand fit.
