Fast track to higher statuses

Is there any promotion to Platinum/Diamond via challenges? I was just downgraded to Gold by 1,000 pts or so, but I still have several upcoming stays. No big difference between Gold and Platinum, but staying as Gold is a bit miserable. I wonder if there is any fast track promotion around.

I can't say if there are any fast track challenges, but I have to ask, what exactly makes staying as Gold "a bit miserable"? Are the hotel staff deliberately causing you problems because you're a Gold member? The only material difference in the on-site benefits between a Platinum and a Diamond, is getting daily breakfast in APAC region. All other on-site benefits are essentially the same. I'm trying to understand the source of your misery.

Well, you are Diamond, probably never know the big gap (yes, the perk difference is not huge). I also used to have the highest status when Diamond was not introduced, the "current" Platinum is far from the "old" Platinum - often no welcome letter/amenity, a little status recognition, hardly upgraded, etc. But Diamond is now the highest, it's understandable.

I have not yet stayed as Gold, but travelled with a colleague who had Gold (and I was Platinum). The colleague was treated like a "non member", the agent never mentioned his status/or acknowledged his membership, whilst I was being checked in next to him as Platinum. I received a letter, etc. as well as a room upgrade.

Also, I normally stay at Sofitel's, so no lounge access is also a big loss.

Have been gold for years and have always been treated nicely except once.
Glad you received a letter and a room upgrade, guess that impressed your friend and perhaps your ego.

So your concern, which you describe as "miserable", is a staff member not mentioning your status when you check in? That's a strange definition of misery. I couldn't possibly care less if the hotel thanked me for being a diamond member. Normally, they don't, and I probably wouldn't want them to. The hotel should be treating all guests well, and if they don't, then it's a problem with that hotel. All I care about with the status is that they deliver on the tangible benefits, as meagre as they are with Accor, like the drink vouchers, dining vouchers, breakfast where applicable, having my points post correctly, etc. It's a transactional program.

There's a fast track promo at the moment to Platinum from Gold, 18 nights.
Also there seems to be, for European residents, a bonus for Gold holders - your next stay could get you 10 status nights.

Wonder if the two promos stack. And therefore you need just 8 nights in total to get back to Platinum from Gold?

Edit: made a mistake, there is no 18 night fast track promo at the moment, I misread the expiry date (2021).

This looks to be true, but I must admit that I never knew about it. Just checked my account after a one night stay last week. Showing as

''Offer: Fast Track NE AR

+ 10 nights15/02/2023''

Try this link: https://all.accor.com/promotions-off...ne-ot.en.shtml
Check out the T&Cs to make sure your country qualifies...

Argh, I've been trying to find the link that I saw last night, for the Gold>Platinum in 18 nights. But can't seem to find it now, but definitely saw it. Need to check my browser history when back home later today.

Update: Argh, looks like I was looking at an accor webpage promo from 2021, for the 18 nights fast track to Platinum. I'll edit my original cost to cross it out.

Well, having only had 9 qualifying nights in 2022, I was downgraded from Gold to Silver.

I have just had my first 2023 stay of 3 nights: I checked my account and it shows an accelerator of 27 nights bringing my total up to 30 ... and, sure enough, my status has changed to Gold valid till December 2024.

Have I missed something? Or should I just assume this is an IT bug that will resolve itself to my detriment in the coming days ....

Accor already gives away status like candy with their current thresholds. It's no wonder the benefits of ALL status are garbage, when they make it so easy to earn it. I shudder to think how much they'll devalue the benefits further if they make it any easier to earn it.
