Platinum members: Do you still queue up while checking in?
Accor properties typically have a queue for members but more often than not, i find that no one really enforce if the people using the queue are members or not. As Platinum guests, we are typically sent to the lounge for our check in process (our entitlement). I am curious if anyone is still queuing while checking in or you get the attention of someone to bring you to the lounge directly?

More often that not (when there's no lounge) the priority queue at reception isn't manned or not enforced |
It varies, if there is just one person in front of me I wait. If it is 10 I proceed to the empty Le Club desk and hope someone notices and leads me to the lounge or checks me in there (if no lounge). I tend not to go for a DYKWIA arrival... :D

I hang my plat card on a lanyard around my neck when I waltz in... :D :D |
There is real privilege only in hotels with lounge. In the hotels without lounge (i speak mainly for Italy and France) there is only one queue, each one has to wait .... there is the priority desk, but there isn’t employee at it |

To Queue or not to Queue .... that is the question .....
The lovely priority sign at most of the hotels we have used needs to be dusted as no one seems ever to be behind it. The one person on check in slowly works their way down the line refusing most benefits and losing the second drinks voucher ..... whilst making sure that all the upgrade rooms are taken |

In Singapore, most of the priority desk are manned but the priority is not enforced with anyone able to join that queue. This is bit annoying when there are 10-15 people in front of you.
It will be quite obnoxious to waltz to the counter and flick out our member card and demand to be brought to the lounge. Anyone have a better idea to make the check in process smoother? |

What I normally just say is "I would like to check in at the executive lounge, can you please guide me there". If you check in at the Sofitel Singapore CC they will ask for your name and there's a lift on the ground floor that takes you up to the 6th floor where the lounge is. If they don't ask, let them know. |
I usually try to signal to any free staff either at Front Desk or Concierge to tell them that I am a LeClub member and would either like to make use of their Priority check in or be escorted to Check in at the Lounge.
Personally, I just checked into Swissotel Merchant Court yesterday, the priority counter was staffed but there was a queue. So I went to the concierge to ask to be sent up to the lounge to check in. The staff said I had to identify myself with the staff at Front Office first. So what I did was instead of joining the queue at the side, I went directly to the Priority desk and queued behind the gentleman who was checking out. I would't say I cut queue but I pulled a George Clooney "Up In The Air" move :D |

That is, in my opinion, proactive action. To simply snowball you on to the next staff and fash away responsibility isn't good training. |
When there is a lounge, the situation is usually easy. When there is no lounge (the majority of the case), I am often lucky with no queue or just one person ahead of me. But if more, I would definitely do as other posters mentioned : wait at the unstaffed priority counter and ask for someone to come here. The only time I had to face a very long line was at Ibis Style Paris CDG airport and by miracle the priority counter was staffed and nobody in line there !
