Very strange. I have a booking for the hotel for November and in the overview section it says this:

Nowhere was this said in advance. Now I could argue the point but frankly Accor I am tired of having to do so so I will just cancel.

This hotel is not listed as non-participating. There are several Banyan Tree in this list, but not this one. Better to double check as the hotel may have decided to join the club of delinquent hotels and list not updated...
As you said, so tiresome !

Thanks for checking. As I have several other bookings for this trip I just cancelled. I don't have the time (or the interest) to chase Accor's incompetent systems.

In my opinion, ALL is more like a French car that you love because it has a lot of flaws or that you just drive because you don't care about cars. It's not fair to blame it for being itself. Enjoy it or ignore it.

Had a 3 nights stay at the Banyan Tree Bangkok. Rate including package was 12k for 3 nights, that’s a very good price. I see the BT on one level with international 5* hotels like GH/HR Bangkok, IC Bangkok, Conrad Bangkok etc., below hotels like PH Bangkok, WA Bangkok, STR Bangkok, etc.

Staff was excellent. It was very friendly and helpful, better than average compared with similar hotels in Bangkok. They understand very quickly, often even without asking.

I like, that I didn’t have to stay in a queue and to wait at the desk for check-in. You just sit down, get something to drink and a snack, give them your passport and credit card and they return with the room cards.

In-room dining was good. Food was served hot and there was no extra charge for service. The menu is quite various. Restaurants are good as well. The rooftop restaurant and bar are well-known in Bangkok and frequented by non-hotel guests as well.

I liked the breakfast as well. Fast and good service. Broad variety of food and beverages.

As I didn’t understand the classification of the rooms, I don’t know if I got an upgrade. They said, that I got a room with a special mattress. I was happy with my room anyway. Could be a junior suite at other hotels. It was located on the 49th floor and the view was nice.

So I had a nice and pleasant stay. Usually I stay around Sukhumvit or Ploen Chit/Erawan area and I still prefer that to the Silom/Sathon area. So from my personal view, the location was the only downside.

Same for me. I like this property except for its location.

I‘m not an expert about mattresses. It was a brand called Sleepmatic and I’ve slept very well. I was told, that they have 10 rooms with that kind of mattress.

That's news to me. I received upgrade and lounge access at BT Bangkok before. Did Accor change the rules for BT lounge access or are you confused with Fairmont?

Stayed at a couple of Banyan Trees before and they provide upgrade as normal (no idea about the lounge though as none of the hotels I stay have lounge)

There is a promo on the banyan tree site which isn't on the accor app. Since it's not cancelable, not sure if I should book it, because accor benefits may not count towards that offer?
what about the free drinks, can you drink them at the moon bar?

Does Banyan Tree Bangkok provide benefits to ALL Platinum members?

Why would it not? It is part of the Accor chain.

ALL website is clear about it.

Do you have reasons to think otherwise?

I believe it's because some Banyan Tree hotels do not participate to ALL. In Thailand, Krabi & Samui do not participate to ALL. But Bangkok is OK.

Wrapped up a two-week stay at this place in July 2024. Being an ALL Gold member scored me an upgrade, which was expected, but the upgrade was not a suite. The room was pretty decent – loved the bathtub with its city view. There was a small issue with part of the ceiling looking a bit off, but not enough to make a fuss about. Nice touch with the daily beauty product freebies from their brand. After two weeks, I noticed they cycle through about a week's worth before repeating.

Room Rundown

Comfy bed, spacious enough, and plenty of pillows. The city view was a nice bonus. Appreciated the daily top-up of bath crystals.

Food Scene

Breakfast: Solid spread with tons of savory options. The sweet stuff wasn't quite up to par with some Asian hotels I've been to, but still way better than your average Western hotel breakfast.

Restaurant Experiences:
  • Vertigo: Big letdown, to be honest. Pricey and the food just didn't cut it. Skip the meal and head to Moon bar for drinks and views instead.
  • Saffron: Great Thai food and top-notch service. Definitely worth checking out if you're staying in.
  • Saffron Sky Garden: Snagged a two-drink voucher for signing up to their loyalty program. Caught the sunset there – surprisingly not packed and the view was pretty sweet. Drinks were just okay though, nothing to write home about.
Overall, mostly positive vibes from this stay. This was my first time staying in a 5-star hotel in Bangkok and I would probably try other hotel brands next time.
