Any DP for the points from Club Opinions surveys?

Check post #4 in the thread referenced above. It should apply to any points which extend the expiration deadline.

I have a bit over 5,000 points now that appear to be set to expire later in December. I had a number of stays in 2016, no Accor eligible stays in 2017 (had some Fairmont, but under the Fairmont program so not counted as Accor stays), but will likely have some in 2018. My points appear to expire in December. Am I able to redeem/book now for a hotel reservation in February, 2018? I went through a booking online, but didn't see any option to apply the points. Any ideas?

It’s at the end of the booking process, at the payment step, where you will be proposed to use all or part of your points.

btw, not all kind of bookings allow you to use points, especially super sales or other promotions. An icon with coins there means that you can book using reward points, otherwise not.https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...fb6a9d4d11.jpg

In above case, only Weekend Break, Extra Safer package & Best unrestricted rate - B&B allow you to use reward points

it will not count if it’s fully paid with points.

Had a couple of nights in Kochi and paid cash so hopefully that should reset the clock on my points for another 12 months.
If several hundred Euros worth of points get taken away I will be very, very unhappy.

sorry to revive this thread. but i find myself in this situation due to some circumstances.

is there a minimum amount spend required for a room that's partially paid through points to be considered as a valid stay?

Not as far as I know.

The least I have spent is 2€ ( plus 4000 points )

Will using some points of my point balance also extend the lifetime of my remaining points?

The T&C says that you need to collect points to extend the lifetime of your points but I would suppose that burning some of them would do the same. (that's at least how all other programs work...)

No. Burning points is not extending the expiry date of the remaining balance. I am not aware of any loyalty program (hotels, airlines, etc) for which this the case.

Both Qantas FF and Velocity FF allow earning or burning points to extend an expiry date. Not sure about other programs.

But in this case, it is correct. You need to earn points and stay in a hotel once a year to extend the points for another 12 months.
