SO YOU GOT A BUNDLE OF BONUS MILES, RECENTLY!

OK we have a truckload of Miles with all the bonuses and Runs to placessometimes we didn't want to stay very long! What are we going to do with them?

As an PRESTIGIOUS ELITEs,we are 'suppose' to be upgraded automatically!

Will or would you use any of those 'easy' miles to upgrade, rather then depend on the 'automatic electronic' upgrades?

Upgrading internationally is probably the best use for them. Upgrading domestic flights on busy Holidays (weekends) might be the next best use or out of hubs, where 1st class seats are limited.

I'll willingly burn miles for upgrading my INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS.

They are my "401K" travel fund. I have not used miles for upgrades. Am considering some for a high priced ticket to Mexico in the fall. If the price falls, I'll buy the ticket.

I generally use my miles on upgradable, but cheap international fares. Occaisionally, I will use them domestically for a transcon destination where I don't want to take the chance of not being upgraded. But given the frequent fare sales, I don't think I would ever use my miles for a free coach ticket

Well, I've accumulated over 1.6 million miles in the last year and here's what I'm doing:

Transfer 1 million to Marriott and Hilton (over 3 years.)

First class award to Brasil.

First class award for 2 to a VERY romantic place yet to be determined.

Bank the rest. I've got upgrade certs so the mileage upgrades hopefully won't be necessary.
