Outbound – yes. Inbound – date as I wanted but from an airport 938 miles away

Booked MAN-FRA-BKK // SGN-FRA-MAN in Y about 6 weeks ago for a Xmas/New Year break – to join a tour starting in BKK and ending in SGN. Didn't think award flights would be possible given the time of year and destination. I then read about the "SEN waitlist trick" in this thread and did some research using the KVS tool. Also thanks to FT I knew how to check the fare rules and found that the ticket I'd bought was fully refundable . (Yes, it was rather expensive.) I sent a PM to Runabout listing possible inbound routing since the original flight was by now showing:

After a couple of phone calls to confirm what I wanted he waitlisted my requests which then cleared within a couple of hours ^^. OK, I'll have to return from HKG instead of SGN and pay for a separate ticket for SGN-HKG (instead of taking out 2.6666 subscriptions to IHT for the extra 40,000 miles needed for a 3-region award ), but hey I can have dim sum lunch in HKG and get to see the DUS SEN lounge that I've never visited on the way back.
