For the OP, our "primary" diaper bag is a large TravelPro backpack. When traveling (2 kids) we bring that along with my
JJ Cole system bag which looks more like a traditional messenger-style diaper bag. Nobody has ever questioned either bag even though the TravelPro could easily hold adult clothes.
