I was just about to say don't go through LIN, probably one of the worst airports ever:- busses, passport Qs, taxi Qs etc etc but as said earlier if you're just turning around there then it is small, so will probably work OK.
The only italian airport where you wouldn't have to bus would be FCO and MXP but not as sure about the latter. The walk at FCO is monumental including a shuttle train. LIN is minute, yes there is a bus but once you have cleared passport control 5 minutes and you are back in the departure lounge.
