I have 180K miles with United that I planned on using for a couple of trips to Australia.
Looks as though United won't be there when I'm ready to travel next spring. I guess it's time to bail out and salvage something by transferring the miles to Hilton. (Am I being a little reactionary?).

How do I do this? Can I do it online, or do I need to call United (or Hilton) for a "manual" request? And then how long will it take?
