Hello everyone,

New to this Forum and as you offer plenty of exceptionally good advice I thought I would post my first question

Will be travelling in CW on the 777 from LHR to EWR next week and taking the laptop for the first time. I'm assuming that flight will be in the old style CW seats. I know there are several threads etc on the socket/laptops etc and the word "empower" keeps cropping up. I've gone to the various links that you've all provided regarding purchasing adapators etc., but just wanted to ask this basic question before I purchase the Teleadapt from BA's own shop.

I currently have an adaptor that plugs into my car cigarette lighter to the laptop. Will this car adaptor also fit into the socket in the CW seat, or will I have to purchase this "special" kit?

I telephone BA themselves to enquire and the guy told me that it was a special adaptor and hence why it is £69.00. I asked him about using the car adaptor and he couldn't give me the answer...Would rather be sorted before getting onto the plane, as knowing my luck if I do have to purchase a kit on board they will probably have run out!

So here's hoping. If I have to buy this kit no worries, but didn't want to buy it if what already works for me in the car will work on the plane.
