CX Reroutes at YVR

Looks like YVR is a mess today. I'm typing from the CX YVR lounge right now.

My flight - Jul 5 YVR-HKG CX835 cancelled, CX883 rerouted LAX-YVR-HKG to pick up the passengers and upgauged to B74A.

Another inbound HKG-YVR (forgot the Flt #) was rerouted HKG-ANC-YVR.

What happens to those CX883 pax originating from LAX that got rerouted? Do they get any sort of compensation?
