Reminds me of a flight I took a few months back on US Air. It was a 3x3 configuration. We were told the flight was full and I was sitting in about the third last row. I had the window seat. A guy sits next to me in the middle, we exchange some small talk. A very big man walks down the aisle. This guy was huge. A look of horror appears on my seat mate's face. As the POS passes us, the look of relief on his face was priceless. POS sits in the last row. He has the aisle seat, but has lifted up the elbow rest and is taking up at least half of the middle seat. I thought maybe he bought both seats until a woman shows up and freezes as she realizes her seat is half occupied. One of the FA sees this and says she will see if there are any empty seats. I didn't think she had a chance, but it was her lucky day. Not sure what would have happened otherwise.
