Do you intend to use this for domestic travel or international travel??
Coming back from an international airport, they do not recognize TSA anything and will just cut it off or remove it and toss it if they want to search your bag. (not in all cases, but a lot)

The only problem I had was when I came home from Australia. They do not recognize TSA locks or bags, so if they want to go through the bag they remove the item and you never see it again. That happened the first time I returned from Australia.

The second time coming back from Australia, I was flying business class and I requested a hand search of my bags which they did and then I locked the bag with my TSA lock. They marked the bag as security checked and my bags were in tact when I returned to LAX.
