Aeroplan still indicates minimum 500 miles for US and UA - I'd be interested in getting feedback from anyone who has recently credited a short-haul on US (and soon UA) whether you got 500 miles or the miles flown.
I suspect you'll only earn actual mileage on flight under 500 now, even when crediting to AE. Both US and UA started this on July 1st and it generally takes two or three days for flights on those carriers to post to AE, so it may be a few more days before we find out for sure.
