Like some other posters mentioned, I do not care for the reason why some pax are overweight or did not shower. I have paid for my seat and expect to get at least that.
I just went transatlantic (overnight) next to a POSS - person of size and smell. No undershirt and short sleeves. Every time his arm went up I was ready to barf. He also didn't speak English but was a nice person. But every time the arm went up I forgot about the fat that was hanging into my seat. And there was a guy behind me who kicked my seat and screamed if I reclined the seatback. Eventually I dealt with the latter by asking for assistance from an officious flight attend who read him the rules. I did manage to sleep for some of it and the smell didn't wake me.
