BTW do you happen to know the average time to clear immigrations at HKIA for C pax? I don't recall the last time I was there but I assume it would be under 30 mins by the time you get to the airport express? So basically it would be 1 hour from arrival to reaching HK station?
Yep I do like the A330 on TG more than B7442 for the HKG route when flying C. Why? cos a lot of the time I connect from BKK onwards after a stopover to Europe and they are mostly served on the 747 anyway. Also I like TG's A330 more than the B7442 because of the more spacious layout as oppose to the lower deck of the 747 where one side of the cabin is board up for catering and hence less day light.
The IFE is the same so no AVOD (equally horrible screen size, same as UA's old intl C). The seats are regional seats, so very similar to SQ's regional C on their B777. Seat pitch wise there might be 2-3 inches diff but should not matter much as the degree of recline is almost the same (take a look on airliners.net).

Average time for clearing immigration in HKG? well I use "e-channel" so it's less than 15 min for me. For passport holders the queue could be long depending on how busy at the time u arr but yes 1 hr should be enough (when the airport 1st opened 10 yrs ago, they promoted that it would not take you more than 30 min from the moment you step off the plane to retrieveing your checked luggages from the belt and to be fair to say that they have not broken their promise on me so far ^).

Happy flying.
