I also enjoyed the book, mainly because of the education I received on Chinese Cuisine. I was less impressed with the characters. I felt that the author really wanted to write a history of Chinese Cuisine, yet felt that she had to write a work of fiction. The story was completely predictable; so I found that a bit annoying. Yet, I am so happy the book was recommended as I learned so much. I would definitely be up for a San Francisco Chinese Food Do.^
