Flying between YVR and YEG yesterday on an Embraer with a very light load, after take-off the in-charge came back to me and said, "Mr. X, I notice that you fly quite frequently with Air Canada and I'd like to invite you to join us in Executive Class this morning if you'd like". She did say that it was not normal to upgrade mid-flight, but that they had a light load and thought it would be nice to do it this time for me.

This was clearly done just on my Elite status, as I had never flown with that crew before.

I know some here will think it was inconsistent and bad practise for this type of thing to happen when it isn't mandated by the rules, but I must say it made me feel appreciated as a customer.
