The whole claim to fame for the Jawbone is that provides voice clarity under harsh background noise conditions. Not sure about the JawBone2, but on the original Jawbone, the "noise shield" is activated by pressing the upper button for three seconds. Have you tried comparing with "noise shield" on and off?
