What ever happened to remembering September 11th? The landscape of security in the airline business has changed since then and it's about time people start understanding that. Showing up at the airport 30 minutes or even 45 minutes before their flight is not always sufficient.
people know that there are rules and that you can't show up before your flight 30 mins before takeoff. however, i assume you've been late before--it happens.

what i don't understand is why DL won't take the bags, and if they don't make the scheduled flight, take them on the next one? thats what SWA does, but then again, I've seen a lady check in 10 mins before her flight, and they late tag the bags, radio/call down to say 2 more are on their way, and get the bags on the plane.

you sign a waiver if the bags are late checked, saying if they don't make your flight, you'll pick them up at the airport
