I make the flight from JNB to SEA about 4 times/year always using SQ from JNB to SIN and then UA to NRT and SEA. The last 2 times (May and June) the SQ check-in staff in JNB would only check the bag to SIN even though my SIN connect time was less than 2 hours. They indicated this was a new change. Does anyone know why? It's no big deal as we need to go to the transfer counter in SIN anyhow to get our onward boarding passes.
