Radonc1 - I also had a similar situation, although I caught them before my seat was completely given away. I had been upgraded IAH-SFO at the 24 hour mark. Great! Had boarding pass and boarded with F (boarding pass had been scanned and it *beeped* when I went through.
Sitting in my seat (2F) I was scanning the upgrade site on my phone (love to see my name there -lol). After a refresh I scanned the list.. and I was GONE! Deleted. No one in seat 2F. For some reason I thought to keep checking my PDA to see if anyone upgraded into my seat. Sure enough.. someone popped into it after about a minute. I jumped up and told the FA someone had upgraded - showed them my boarding pass and PDA. The GA had just walked aboard with the new upgraders boarding pass. I showed the GA my boarding pass and told her to make sure I was on that manifest (didn't want everything cancelling). I kept my seat.
Don't know what to say about OP - not sure why she would have not checked her boarding pass. A simple ID check would have helped.

I am intrigued by this post. I had a similar situation happen to me when I was upgraded 5 days before a flight from AUS to IAH but after boarding (usual check in at the hotel with BP (plus autocheckin to boot)), I was approached by the GA who told me that I had never checked in and they moved me to the back of the plane and upgraded another passenger. I did not relinquish my boarding passes and the situation was dealt with at the PC in IAH. I too was not about to leave the plane, since they were trying to button it up and get going.
All that being said, how would you prove that you didn't fly in the front of the bus? The only proof you had you gave away!! I guess you could see who was seated in row 22F, but that may not be the person who took 1A. Maybe one of the senior gurus could help you, but I think you got a bum deal here and no way to fix it. Sorry
