I second this. Y (economy) fares earn pretty poorly on BD if not the worst in *A. Suggest you stick to either UA or US and even LH if flying in Y. Many *A fares in economy earn either 25-50% on BD except full fare which means gaining status is pretty difficult to achieve.

It maybe worth noting that BD is highly likely to be brought out by LH over the next couple of months and therefore there is a fairly high change LH's M&M will take over Diamond Club.
