Mildly OT: markings on the underside of aircraft
On Mondays, it has become my custom of late to leave my SW19 citadel and take a walk through the streets of London, usually to Clapham Common. There, I enjoy an overpriced frothy coffee by the bandstand, pop some Kenny G on the iPod and enjoy a bracing flick through my copy of the Morning Star or Take A Break.
On a lovely day, it's a happy place for the FTer. Every 90 seconds or so, another aircraft wheezes its way LHRwards a few thousand feet above, on short finals for 27L/R.
Today I noticed that an Airbus had a big, red logo on its belly. I think it read "Emirates" but I couldn't be sure.
Do other airlines have this? And if not, why not? Seems like a brand promotion opportunity squandered.
